Terms of Service

Who Bulletin is for

Bulletin is built for the University of Florida community, and creating an account requires a UF email address. You must be at least 13 years old; the app is made for university students. If you are under 18, read these terms with a parent or guardian, since agreeing to them is a real agreement. Bulletin is an independent student-built project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the University of Florida.

Your account

• Keep your sign-in codes to yourself. You are responsible for what happens on your account.
• Be who you say you are. Do not impersonate people, clubs, or the university.
• You can delete your account at any time from Settings. How deletion works is described in the Privacy Policy.

Your content

What you post stays yours: your events, messages, photos, and profile. By posting, you give Bulletin the permission needed to run the app, which means storing your content, showing it to the people it is meant for, and moderating it. That permission ends when your content or account is deleted, except that a message you already sent may remain in the other person's copy of the conversation, and safety records are kept as the Privacy Policy describes.

You are responsible for what you post. Post only what you have the right to share.

The rules

There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behavior on Bulletin. Do not:

• Harass, threaten, or target other people, on or off campus.
• Post hateful content about anyone's race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexuality, disability, or anything else that makes a person a person.
• Post sexually explicit content.
• Post violent or illegal content, promote self-harm, or use Bulletin to organize anything illegal.
• Spam, scam, or run ads dressed up as events.
• Share someone's private information, like their number, address, or private photos, without their consent.
• Use location sharing, or anything else in the app, to follow, track, or show up on someone who has not invited you.
• Break into, scrape, overload, or otherwise abuse the service or other people's accounts.

Moderation, honestly described

• Every uploaded image is screened automatically before it becomes visible.
• Messages pass through automated moderation when they are sent.
• You can report any message, event, or person, and you can block anyone. Blocking immediately stops them from contacting you.
• A human reviews every report within 24 hours. We remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that break these rules, and we err on the side of the person being targeted.

Campus events

Some events come from public University of Florida sources, and some are posted by students and clubs. Bulletin does not organize, host, or vouch for any event. Details can change or be wrong, and deciding to attend is your call. For official events, the source page is the authority.

Your location

Location is optional and off until you turn it on. You choose which friends see your spot, you can change that or turn it off at any time in Settings, and your spot is deleted three hours after your last update. The Privacy Policy describes exactly what is kept.

Ending things

You can stop using Bulletin or delete your account whenever you want. We can suspend or terminate accounts that break these rules, and remove content that does, with or without notice. If an account is terminated for breaking the rules, opening a new account to get around it also breaks the rules.

The unavoidable legal part

Bulletin is provided as is, without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent the law allows, Bulletin and its creator are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, and total liability for anything is limited to one hundred dollars. Some places do not allow some of these limits, so parts of this may not apply to you. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida.

If something you post or do on Bulletin, or a break of these terms, leads to a claim against Bulletin or its creator, you agree to cover the costs of that claim, including reasonable legal fees.

If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest still applies. If we do not enforce a part right away, we can still enforce it later. These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and Bulletin. The parts about your content, liability, and this section keep applying after your account ends.

If you got Bulletin from the App Store

• These terms are between you and Bulletin, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content, and has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for it.
• Bulletin is free. If the app ever fails a warranty that applies to it, you can tell Apple, and Apple will refund what you paid for it, if anything. Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app.
• Apple is not responsible for claims about the app, including product liability claims, claims that it breaks a legal or regulatory requirement, consumer protection claims, or claims that it infringes someone's intellectual property.
• Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and can enforce them against you.

Changes

If these terms change in a way that meaningfully affects you, we will update the date at the top and let you know in the app before the change takes effect.
